Rooted in Community. Driven by Purpose.

Jessica Johnston has called Tacoma home for nearly a decade, living and working in the Hilltop neighborhood. She’s led city committees, supported small businesses, and built bridges between public, private, and nonprofit partners. Her leadership is hands-on, people-focused, and grounded in a deep belief in what Tacoma can be when we work together.

About Jessica

Jessica comes from a family of public servants and entrepreneurs. Her grandfather was Pierce County Assessor in the 1970s, and her mother spent her career with United Way, supporting BIPOC communities and people with disabilities—all while living with MS. Jessica’s upbringing instilled values of service, inclusion, and showing up for others.

She brings that same spirit to everything she does—whether it's helping artists open a business, organizing a street fair, or working to make city government more transparent and responsive.

Jessica currently serves as:

  • Downtown Tacoma Partnership, Vice President

  • City of Tacoma’s Events & Recognition Committee, Chair

  • City-appointed leader for the Hilltop Business Improvement Area

  • Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, Chamber Ambassador

  • Director of Court House Square and Property Manager for the KSP Building
